- 1. What is immersive dance theatre?
- Immersive dance theatre is an art experience where you, as an audience member, are free to go and stand where you like, follow whom you choose, and see what you want to see. Throughout the building, all performers play the show House of Love at the same time. You stand beside the performers in the building and feel their feelings and emotions right next to you.
- 2. Am I part of the performance?
- As an audience member, you are not a performer. There are moments when you may be invited to join in small actions or short scenes with a performer. This is optional — you decide how much you want to take part. Occasionally a performer may offer you a choice. Your answer can influence how the performance unfolds.
- 3. Will I miss out if I don’t see everything?
- Everyone has their own unique experience; choosing what to watch is part of it. It’s impossible to see everything, and no two visits are the same. Trust what draws you and let yourself be surprised by where you end up.
- 4. Is there one storyline?
- No — there are several storylines. There is one overarching theme, but each performer has their own thread. You can follow one character throughout or move from one to another. There’s no right or wrong — follow what you need.
- 5. Is the venue accessible?
- The building is largely accessible, except for a small staircase. Visitors using a wheelchair can experience a large part of the performance. If you have questions, you’re welcome to contact us.
- 6. What should I wear?
- This is a free-roaming performance: you move freely through the spaces. You’ll be on your feet and walking throughout. Seating is limited in each room, with priority for those who find standing difficult. We recommend comfortable shoes.
- 7. What’s the difference between the two tickets?
- The difference between Capulets and Montagues tickets is where you begin as an audience member. Each house has a different opening that you only experience as part of that ‘family’. After that, the performance comes together and everyone meets again.
- 8. How many people attend each performance?
- For the best immersive experience, audience size is capped at 50 people per show, so there is enough space to move around.
- 9. Is there an age limit?
- The performance is suitable from age 15.
- 10. What if I feel uncomfortable during the show?
- There are always front-of-house staff on hand. If you feel uncomfortable or need anything, they are there for you. Go to the entrance and they will help you.
